VMG BUILDING
Hello Everyone! On today’s KMD Group Blog Feature. We are showcasing one of the commercial buildings we have designed in Costa Rica. The VMG building is a business centre in Costa Rica that is the headquarters of VMG Healthcare Products. Our Costa Rican Architecture firm KMA Design intervened in the design of the VMG building during the construction process of the original design. Vegetation coupled with a beautiful water feature set amongst a backdrop of the gorgeous Costa Rican Sky wows the users, and so too do the amazing reflections on the tall glass blue windows of the building.

The building’s pure and solid volumes are broken up through the presence of perforations, which let the it fully breathe. One of the client’s requirements was to bring the feeling of a house surrounded by a garden into this penthouse office. Internal gardens are integrated through every level, and a central vertical chamber is used to inject natural light into most of the spaces.
The use of color highlights the stairwell and elevators, bringing vitality to the different access points.

The building is crowned by a volume that invites the landscape to be an important protagonist where, through water ponds and lush vegetation, a great “urban greenhouse “is born. When you ride the elevator to the top floor, one is pleasantly surprised that the doors open to a stunning rooftop garden where fresh air and fascinating views are in abundance.
